Keeley Haftner is a process-driven artist who transforms garbage into sculpture in an attempt to locate its lost material and affective value. She negotiates with and against the flow of matter through processes ranging from fusion (melting, casting, extruding) to erosion (tumbling, carving, sandblasting). These processes act to transmute her materials into discrete sculptural works and larger installations that merge scientifically-driven research practices with the poetic.
