carried voice is an installation dealing with sound in its absence and presence. The historical South Side Community Center building was going through a period of renovation in which they allowed me to remove part of their drop ceiling. The piano acts as a silent and musical companion to the vowel O. By acting as simultaneously a mouth, vowel, note and absence, the "O" in carried voice activates the negative and positive space, calling back to the body's presence in activity
