"cada día, todos los días."

My work inquires ways of materializing disappearance in the anguish and haste of trying to grasp ephemeral moments, in order to reanimate what exists only in the realm of the intangible. With this I aspire to control the passage of time and to contain the presence of what is loss. To do this I aid myself with ink drawings, collections of objects and images, silkscreen prints on fabric, slide projections with images and text. They describe situations and objects that surround my experience of time. Also, through domestic materials such as mops, bed sheets, and receipts I commemorate the nostalgic moments that the memory of my sister awakes in me. Image making and sculptural processes let me meditate and transform the nature of daily objects into a time line of the sisterhood in Colombia that is absent.
