Advanced Fiber Studio (Highlights)
I am inherently drawn to the colors and texture of mold. This interest translates to a major influence in my work. Working with dying I manipulate a fabrics surface trying to achieve similar coloring and texture to that of different molds. Dyed fabric is just one element that I use in my installations, however it is the catalyst that leads to my other material and color choices. I am continuously adding new materials to my practice some of these currently being conduit, plastic, archiving sleeves, shelving and wood. Because my work consists of so many different elements the way they are installed is a main focus. I very consciously display these separate parts concentrating on the relationships that can be made between separate objects. I like to leave room for constant change and maneuvering of the installations, so that it does not exist as static object but rather something that has exponential possibilities.
