Advanced Fiber Studio (Highlights)
I am interested in capturing an experience of liminality that stems from my identity in question as a bi-cultural citizen. Low-tech ephemeral materials - xeroxed images, wood scraps, and cardboard describe the visual "thresholds" I make. The resulting collages and sculptural objects assume the role of placing the audience in the interstice of two points of view. At the core of my work lies a desire to break our tendency to think from an exclusive perspective, while reminding the viewer of the multiple angles from which we may perceive.
