Since leaving Korea and coming to America a few years ago, I have experienced many changes- in language, culture, and environment. As I am assimilating into western culture and life, I my early memories and cultural identity recede. I feel that I do not fit into any culture.

I document and record my memories, movements, and feelings in the creation of sculpture and collage works. My art is about the transitions in my life. I am crocheting wire spheres using five different sizes of hooks. The variations in structure represent the entanglement of different cultures, languages, and backgrounds. The form of crochet sculpture also represents a tunnel or bridge, which metaphorically connects my past to my present and future, suggesting a life that is always in transition.
