Punch Quilt is made of crowdsourced punch cards for a domestic knitting machine that were submitted on the artist’s website. There was no prompt, just an open invitation. Participants’ designs were knit into a piece of fabric on a live stream, where they could talk with the artist and watch as she converted their image into knitting in real time. Over the course of 3 months more than 100 designs were knitted into a single piece of fabric measuring over 300 feet.
