Advanced Fiber Studio (Highlights)
Course Description: Fiber 4005
The primary purpose of this undergraduate course is to provide a forum for in-depth critiques and exploration of students' individual directions within the context of contemporary art. Group discussions, readings, faculty and student presentations, field trips to current exhibitions, and visiting lecturers may augment this class. Professional practices will also be covered, including: preparing an exhibition; sources and strategies for grant and exhibition proposals; discussion of graduate programs; documentation; developing a professional resume; and writing an artist's statement.
This class is offered at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
