My artworks reference the sensations and processes of consuming food, to embody a continuous, and subtle shaping of an individual, through the accumulative effect of innocent routine. My paintings and prints underline the exhaustion and exuberance, of overwhelming possibilities in mundanity. I paint to preserve memories of the ubiquitous and the personal, while celebrating a privacy embedded within the public images. The coverage of the surface suggests uncertainty of dimension: it denies the object, and plays with the notions of passage and closure. The imagery also celebrates imagination and curiosity, as the viewer is required to decode or solve the ambiguous, abstract visual puzzles. This effect can either bring on anxiety or entertain.
